Nairobi is the only city in the world with a national park, giving you immediate access to a safari experience.
Nairobi National Park: Half-day safari drives are available, offering a chance to see lions, buffalos, rhinos, and giraffes with the city skyline in the background.

Nairobi National Park is one of the most unique wildlife parks in the world, located just 7 km (about 4 miles) from the city center of Nairobi, Kenya. It offers a rare combination of urban and wild experiences, where visitors can see animals like lions, rhinos, giraffes, and zebras with the Nairobi skyline in the background.

Wildlife You Can See:

Big mammals: Lions, black rhinos, leopards, hyenas, buffalo, giraffes

Other animals: Zebras, wildebeests, elands, hartebeests, gazelles

Birds: Over 500 species recorded, making it a haven for bird watchers.

Shedrick Baby Elephant Orphanage

In memory of her husband, Dr. Dame Daphne Sheldrick founded the Sheldrick Foundation in 1977.
The Sheldrick Foundation focused its efforts on rescuing orphaned baby elephants and rhinos whose mothers had been killed by poachers or through human conflict, leaving the young animals without care.

To provide for these orphans, the Foundation developed a milk formula substitute, ensuring the baby elephants and rhinos could be nourished for two years until they were strong enough to thrive on their own.

Once the animals complete their time at the nursery in Nairobi National Park, they transition to Reintegration Units in the wild. This stage helps them gradually learn to live more independently before their eventual full release.

Giraffe Centre

Its mission is to protect the Rothschild’s giraffe through breeding, public education, and reintroduction of giraffes into suitable wild habitats.

It also serves as a nature sanctuary, with indigenous trees, and a nature trail where more than 300 bird species can be found.

Feeding and photographing with giraffes is the main interest here. On a raised platform, you feed the giraffes by hand using special pellets. A popular moment is the so-called “giraffe kiss” (wait for this moment, holding the pellet between lips)
